It was at the Australian Olympics in 2000 when Mr John Barnes was visiting his daughter and they took the opportunity to go to the games. At lunch time they collected their food which came in a plastic bag and he thought that a biodegradable box would be much better for obvious reasons and gave John some ideas and said to himself I can do better than this.
This was the first steps to the Picnic Box Company being born.
When John arrived home to England he went to work with his idea put many designs together until he came up with the unique picnic box to which a patent was made a few years later John Barnes contacted Steve Fairman, a friend for many years, and asked him to come up with any ideas the box could be used for.
Steve made a list as long as your arm this has been proven to work time and time again by the list of our customers that grows and grows. At this point the company was run on a part time basis and now 7 days a week customers can contact what is now known as Picnic Box UK.
We are so proud to have a list of customers such as ours some are household names some are companies like ourselves but to us each and every one are as important.
In 2015 we decided that customers should be able to contact us with more freedom so now you can contact us 7 days a week between 8:30am to 9:30pm taking away the stress that you may need some boxes at the last minute we also run a next day delivery where possible.
